UK Electrical Installations Retains EcoVadis Platinum Status for the Second Consecutive Year

Achieving EcoVadis Platinum is a remarkable feat in its own right. Retaining it for a second year running is something else entirely.

We’re proud to announce that UK Electrical Installations has once again been awarded Platinum status by EcoVadis, the world’s leading provider of business sustainability ratings. For the second consecutive year, we’ve been ranked in the top 1% of companies assessed worldwide, achieving an overall score of 87/100 and placing in the 99th percentile globally.

And this year, we’ve raised the bar. Our overall score has improved from 86 to 87, with a particularly strong uplift in our Ethics score, which climbed from 82 to 90 out of 100. This isn’t just about maintaining a standard, it’s evidence of genuine, ongoing progress.

What Is EcoVadis and Why Does It Matter?

EcoVadis provides trusted sustainability ratings for over 130,000 organisations worldwide. It’s used by leading global businesses, including many of our own clients and project partners, to assess suppliers and contractors against rigorous, independently verified benchmarks across four areas of ESG performance:

  • Environment: Energy use, carbon emissions, resource efficiency and environmental impact
  • Labour & Human Rights: Employee welfare, diversity, inclusion and safe working practices
  • Ethics: Anti-corruption, data security, governance and responsible business conduct
  • Sustainable Procurement: Supplier management, ethical sourcing and supply chain transparency

Platinum is the highest rating EcoVadis awards, and it’s not handed out lightly. It means sustainability is embedded across every part of the business, not just on paper, but in practice.

Our 2026 Scores at a Glance

  • Environment: 87/100
  • Labour & Human Rights: 86/100
  • Ethics: 90/100 (up from 82 last year)
  • Sustainable Procurement: 87/100
  • Overall: 87/100 ( 99th percentile globally)

Environmental Responsibility Embedded Into Operations

Our environmental score of 87/100 reflects years of genuine investment in reducing our impact and improving how we operate day to day. The EcoVadis assessment recognised a wide range of initiatives across our business, including:

  • Quantitative targets for energy consumption and greenhouse gas reduction
  • Adoption of energy-efficient construction practices
  • Reduction of waste through reuse, recovery and repurposing
  • Investment in renewable energy and carbon reduction measures
  • Employee training on climate action and waste reduction
  • Robust environmental reporting across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions

As sustainability requirements continue to grow across the construction and electrical sectors, we’re committed to helping our clients achieve their own environmental objectives through efficient project delivery, innovative thinking and responsible operations.

Supporting Our People Through Strong Labour & Human Rights Standards

Our people are our greatest strength, and our score of 86/100 in Labour & Human Rights reflects the culture we’ve worked hard to build. Key strengths highlighted in the assessment included:

  • Ongoing investment in employee development and skills training
  • Strong health & safety procedures and risk management
  • Equal opportunities and anti-discrimination initiatives
  • Flexible working practices and employee wellbeing support
  • Clear career development and internal progression pathways
  • Apprenticeship and long-term workforce development programmes

With a directly employed workforce and a strong culture of loyalty and development, we continue to invest in creating long-term opportunities for the people who make UKE what it is.

Industry-Leading Ethical Standards

Our strongest category improvement this year came in Ethics, where we scored 90/100, up significantly from 82 last year. This reflects the continued strengthening of our governance frameworks and our commitment to operating with transparency and integrity. The assessment highlighted:

  • Anti-corruption and fraud prevention measures
  • Information security policies and risk assessments
  • Whistleblowing procedures and stakeholder protections
  • Ethics training and awareness programmes
  • Formal governance and compliance processes

Operating with integrity has always been central to how we work, underpinning long-standing relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and employees alike.

A Responsible Approach to Sustainable Procurement

Scoring 87/100 in Sustainable Procurement, we were recognised for our collaborative approach to working with suppliers and maintaining responsible practices throughout our supply chain, including:

  • Supplier assessments on environmental and social practices
  • Sustainability-focused supplier policies and codes of conduct
  • Integration of environmental and social requirements into supplier contracts
  • Supply chain sustainability risk assessments
  • Buyer training on sustainability issues within the supply chain

Why This Matters to Our Clients

In an industry where clients are increasingly expected to demonstrate their own sustainability credentials, choosing a Platinum-rated contractor matters. It means assurance, that carbon impacts are being actively managed, that labour practices are ethical and progressive, that your supply chain is as committed as you are, and that you’re working with a partner who understands long-term value, not just short-term delivery.

Whether you’re targeting BREEAM Outstanding, pursuing low-carbon or zero-carbon outcomes, or simply need a contractor you can trust to represent your values on site, this award is a marker of that assurance.

Continuing to Raise Standards

Retaining EcoVadis Platinum for a second year running, and improving our scores in the process, is something we’re genuinely proud of. But it’s also a reflection of something bigger: the collective effort of everyone at UKE, from project managers and site teams to estimators, designers, administrators and apprentices.

“Retaining EcoVadis Platinum status for a second consecutive year is a fantastic achievement and reflects the hard work, professionalism and commitment of our entire team. Sustainability, integrity and investment in people are fundamental to our business, and we are incredibly proud to see those values recognised once again on a global stage. The improvement in our scores this year shows that we’re not standing still, we’re continuing to raise the bar.”
