STAFF SPOTLIGHT

AIMEE BEARD

PROJECT ADMIN MANAGER

What does your role involve?

I work with the contracts managers helping to look after multiple projects. I am involved in every aspect of the project, from design stage through to handover.

I spend my days ‘spinning lots of plates’. My head never switches off.

Me and my team can’t afford to let anything slip on a project, we have to make sure everything is in place, on time. Its our job to think ahead, anticipate problems and make sure they don’t happen.

How have you progressed since you started at UKE?

That’s an interesting question. I originally joined the company in 2016 as a project administrator. I worked here for 3 years, and then left to gain experience in another construction-related industry.

However, I very much missed being a part of the UKE team, and excitedly returned to UK Electrical a year later as manager of the project admin team.

I can’t quantify how much I’ve progressed since I joined UKE, but genuinely every day here is a school day. I learn something new every day and I’m encouraged to keep on growing and applying that knowledge.

What do you like the most about your job?

It has been so incredibly rewarding and fulfilling to be back with a company I love, building my career and knowing that I am always heard and supported.

The guys at UKE are a true-team. We listen to each other’s ideas. We are always looking at ways to improve.

We all work incredibly hard, we are rewarded fairly and there is room to develop further within the business.

Why we like working for UK Electrical

Our people are proud to work for UK Electrical – don’t just take our word for it….

UKE feels like a family. We are a team and we support each other. The office is fantastic, modern and a great space to work. UKE have enabled me to fit my working hours around my children, something I’ve never found in previous workplaces I’ve worked here around 18 months now and have learned and grown so much. I’ve learned to plan projects and organise multiple contractors. My technical knowledge has improved immensely and my confidence grows every day

Lucy Price – Apple Support Co-Ordinator

I joined UKE as an apprentice, because I heard from a friend what a great company they are to work for. I haven’t been disappointed. The owners and managers are all lovely people and they care about their staff. They have supported me through all of my training. I qualified as an electrician 4 years after starting my apprenticeship and 2 years later I was promoted to site foreman

Oliver Pugh – Electrician and Site Foreman

UK Electrical gave me the opportunity to further my career at the forefront of modern electrical technology and have given me true support throughout

DANIEL BLYTHE

CONTRACTS MANAGER

What does your role involve?

I am responsible for multiple projects, for different clients. I am involved from the minute we win a project, to the day we handover to the client.

I divide my time between office, client meetings, liaising with suppliers and managing / supporting our site teams.

How have you progressed since starting at UKE?

I started working for UK Electrical as a sub-contractor in 2003, then became an employee in 2005.

I quickly became a site foreman, managing projects for clients like Staples, Disney and Apple.

I became an NICEIEC qualified supervisor in 2010 and a contracts manager in 2019.

What do you like most about your job?

I have 26 years-experience as an electrician, and its great being able to share my knowledge with the younger guys.

My role is really diverse, and I am constantly learning new skills. I enjoy having the ability to fit in and adapt to new challenges.
