SITE FOREMAN
What does your role involve?
I am a Site Foreman working on large construction projects. My role involves overseeing all aspects of the electrical installation works, managing engineers on site, coordinating with suppliers and the main contractor, attending project meetings, and ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. I am responsible for keeping projects running smoothly and making sure deadlines are met.
How have you progressed since starting at UKE?
I started my career with UK Electrical as a labourer. Early on, I realised that I wanted to develop my skills and progress within the industry, so I approached the company about completing an adult apprenticeship. UKE were incredibly supportive throughout the process, providing me with the opportunity and guidance I needed to gain my qualifications. I successfully qualified as an electrician in 2018, and thanks to the experience and support I received, I progressed to a Site Foreman role in 2020. Looking back, I’m proud of how far I’ve come and grateful for the investment UKE made in my development.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most is the responsibility that comes with being a Site Foreman and seeing projects come together from start to finish. No two days are ever the same, which keeps the job interesting and challenging. I enjoy working with different people, solving problems, and continuing to learn new things every day. The company has grown significantly since I joined, and it has been rewarding to grow alongside it and be part of its success.

STEPHEN GREY
ELECTRICIAN AND SITE FOREMAN
What does your role involve?
I joined UKE 27 years ago, I have done lots of different things during that time.
I work mostly on the end-user side of the business, working directly with clients like Apple.
How have you progressed since starting at UKE?
I was a newly qualified electrician when I started. I have received lots of training and had great opportunities.
I am a qualified site foreman & test and inspection engineer and have also trained in data and fire alarm installations.
UK Electrical started doing the electrical installations for new Apple stores in the UK in 2008 and I am proud to have been the site foreman for every one of these projects.
What do you like most about your job?
The company has changed and grown lots since I joined, and it has been exciting being part of it.
My proudest achievement is that I am the ‘go-to’ person at UK Electrical for Apple.
