Top 1%: UK Electrical Installations Awarded EcoVadis Platinum for Sustainability Excellence

UK Electrical Installations has been awarded the Platinum Medal by EcoVadis, the leading global assessor of business sustainability performance.  This result places UKE in the top 1% of mechanical, electrical and construction companies worldwide in our sector, a remarkable recognition of the values we live by every day: integrity, innovation, quality, and a genuine commitment to doing the right thing.

What Is EcoVadis and Why Does It Matter?

EcoVadis provides trusted sustainability ratings for over 130,000 organisations worldwide. It’s used by leading global companies, including our own clients and collaborators, to evaluate partners against rigorous, independently verified benchmarks.

Each company is assessed across four areas:

  • Environment
Including energy use, emissions, resource efficiency, and impact mitigation
  • Labour & Human Rights
Covering employee welfare, diversity, inclusion, and safe working practices
  • Ethics
From anti-corruption measures to data security and responsible business conduct
  • Sustainable Procurement
Evaluating supplier management, ethical sourcing, and supply chain transparency

To be awarded Platinum is no small feat. It’s a sign that sustainability isn’t just something we talk about, it’s embedded across every part of our business.

Built Into the Way We Work

At UKE, we don’t just aim to meet compliance requirements, we actively shape the way we work around sustainability and quality.

From our use of digital tools that reduce rework and waste, to our commitment to employing directly and developing talent through long-term apprenticeships, sustainability is part of our operating DNA.

This Platinum award reflects years of effort and investment across every area of the business. It’s a collective achievement that belongs to every UKE team member from project managers and site teams to designers, estimators, administrators, and apprentices.

Why It Matters to Our Clients

In an industry where clients are increasingly expected to demonstrate sustainability credentials, working with a Platinum-rated contractor means assurance.

  • Assurance that carbon impacts are being actively reduced
  • Assurance that labour practices are ethical and progressive
  • Assurance that your supply chain is as committed as you are
  • And assurance that you’re working with a partner who understands long-term value not just short-term gains

As we look to expand our client base, deepen our partnerships, and support more projects pursuing BREEAM Outstanding, low-carbon, zero-carbon, or sustainability-first outcomes, this award is a marker of trust.

“This Platinum award from EcoVadis reflects the strength of our culture and the commitment of our people. From project teams to support staff, everyone at UKE plays their part in meeting high standards, not just in how we deliver work, but in how we look after our people, operate responsibly, and continue to improve across the business”
