What is the evaluation process?
The sustainability evaluation is organised into four stages:
1: Registration
This administrative stage is focused on determining the nature of our business and how to categorise its operations ahead of further assessment. We also have our credentials verified for integrity.
2: Questionnaire
The information provided during the registration process is used by EcoVadis to create a bespoke questionnaire for each company based on industry sector, size and country of operation. The comprehensive questionnaire must be complete with supporting documentation and evidence before submitting to EcoVadis for analysis.
3: Expert Analysis
Once the questionnaire has been completed and submitted, EcoVadis appoint an expert to analyse the answers and evidence provided. The responses and supporting documents are then graded in relation to the EcoVadis criteria.
4: Results
Once all the answers have been analyzed, the results are published and the company is informed of the outcome. This is presented as a scorecard broken down into the following areas:
- Overall score with the average industry score (black mark on diagram);
- Scores across the four sustainability themes and average industry score per theme;
- Each pillar’s weight (from 1 to 4)
In addition to the main scorecard, a detailed scorecard for each sustainability pillar is provided, where company strengths & improvement areas are highlighted.
“We are delighted to have achieved a silver rating from EcoVadis for our commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. Not only does it reflect our vision and values as a company but also places us among the top companies in the world.
A lot of our clients ask about an EcoVadis rating as sustainability becomes a more important factor in who to partner with. It helps us to connect and align with like-minded companies with a commitment to positive change.
We have an action plan in place for the ongoing improvement of our sustainability performance and are going to be working hard towards a Gold Medal recognition next year.
We recognise that sustainability intelligence influences the business decisions made by our customers and we want to make it easy to choose UK Electrical as your trading partner.
