UK Electrical Installations Certified by Constructionline for Building Safety Act Compliance

We’re pleased to share that UK Electrical Installations has completed the Constructionline Building Safety Act Assessment and is now certified by Constructionline for works on all non-high-risk buildings, a clear demonstration of our competence and compliance under the building safety regime now reshaping our industry.

It’s an achievement we’re genuinely proud of, and one that gives the clients and principal contractors we work with real confidence that UKE understands its responsibilities and takes building safety seriously at every level.

What Is the Building Safety Act Assessment?

Introduced following the Building Safety Act 2022, the assessment evidences a company’s organisational competence and compliance with the new building safety requirements. It’s aligned with recognised standards including BS 8670 and the Building Safety section of the Common Assessment Standard (Version 4).

The Act places clear duties on everyone involved in a construction project. Wherever building regulations apply, contractors and subcontractors are duty holders with responsibilities to demonstrate competence and work safely. Completing this assessment is how we evidence that responsibility upstream, giving principal contractors and principal designers confidence that they’re working with a partner who understands the Act and what it requires.

This certification covers works on all non-high-risk buildings. Under the Building Safety Act, a higher-risk building is one that is at least 18 metres tall, or has at least seven storeys, and contains at least two residential units. The vast majority of projects fall outside that definition, so this gives the contractors and clients we work with clear assurance of our competence across the broad range of works we deliver.

Built on a Foundation of Constructionline Gold

Our ability to complete the Building Safety Act Assessment is underpinned by our Constructionline Gold membership, which we hold as a verified, pre-qualified supplier. Gold membership is awarded to companies that meet the Common Assessment Standard, the recognised, industry-wide benchmark developed by Build UK that assesses a business against rigorous criteria covering:

  • Health & safety policies and procedures
  • Financial standing and business probity
  • Quality management and environmental practices
  • Equality, diversity and modern slavery compliance
  • Insurance, accreditations and professional standing

Holding Gold removes the need for repetitive pre-qualification paperwork and gives buyers independently verified proof that UKE is a safe, capable and financially sound partner. The Building Safety Act Assessment, available to Gold members through the Common Assessment Standard, builds directly on that foundation.

Why This Matters

Building safety is no longer a box to tick, it’s a shared responsibility that runs through every level of the supply chain. As principal contractors increasingly seek partners who can demonstrate genuine competence and compliance, evidencing our building safety credentials puts UKE in a strong position to support more projects, for more clients, with confidence on both sides.

It’s also part of a bigger picture. This achievement sits alongside our recently retained EcoVadis Platinum rating, reinforcing our commitment to operating responsibly, safely and to the highest standards across every part of the business.

“Completing the Building Safety Act Assessment gives our clients real confidence in how we operate. Building safety and compliance are fundamental to everything we do, and this is proof that we don’t just meet the standards expected of us, we go further to stay ahead of them.”
